Troopers told News Channel 8 they initially responded to the highway for a report of a property damage crash. While on scene, a Jeep moving at a high speed struck the side of a parked, unoccupied police cruiser.
About 45 minutes later, an unrelated vehicle, also speeding, ran over “multiple traffic cones in the right lane that were positioned to warn oncoming traffic,” and struck a second unoccupied police vehicle called to assist, the outlet reported.
