Researchers from Griffith University spotted the 32-foot migrating whale swimming near Surfer's Paradise, where its tail had become entangled in a rope and anchor. They immediately notified experts from the Sea World Rescue team, who arrived on the scene to begin a delicate operation to free the animal.
