The New York Giants continued to be hindered by significant injuries, with the latest hits coming Sunday against the New York Jets.
Two key offensive players - quarterback Tyrod Taylor and tight end Darren Waller – were hurt and ruled out of the game. The Giants were down to third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito against a Jets defense that includes last year's Defensive Rookie of the Year, Sauce Gardner.
After a missed Graham Gano 35-yard field goal opened the door for the Jets to drive with just 24 seconds left and force overtime, the Giants fell 13-10. DeVito completed just two of seven passes for -1 yard, and the team finished with -9 yards passing overall after taking four sacks.
Tyrod Taylor taken to hospital
Taylor was ruled out of the game after being hit in the first half.

The announced that Taylor was officially done for the day and was taken to the hospital with a rib injury, and it later said he would remain there overnight.
The NFL journeyman was 4-of-7 for eight yards before leaving the field.
Taylor started his third game for the Giants after Daniel Jones went down with a neck injury. DeVito is a rookie out of Illinois and signed with the team as an undrafted free agent.
Darren Waller out with hamstring injury
Waller is also out of the game with a hamstring injury, the team announced.
Waller had one catch for 4 yards at the half. He was listed as questionable on the team's injury report ahead of the game.
The former Pro Bowler got his first touchdown with the Giants last week in their first win of the season. He has 35 catches for 380 yards through seven games. Waller has struggled with a hamstring injury throughout the year and only played in nine games last year with the Las Vegas Raiders.
