Tire breaks off car, flies into oncoming traffic, killing Colorado motorcyclist

A motorcyclist was killed Sunday morning in Colorado after being struck by a tire broke that off a car traveling on Interstate 25.
The motorcyclist and the driver were traveling in opposite directions on the freeway, approximately 12 miles north of Colorado Springs at 8:56 a.m. local time, when the tire came off of a Subaru and bounced into the motorcyclist's path, according to a Colorado State Patrol spokesperson.
First responders administered first aid on the scene but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the hospital.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing and no charges have been filed as of Sunday afternoon.
Neither the driver nor the motorcyclist has been identified as of Sunday afternoon.
